Poole College Grows Faculty With 4 New Additions
Poole College of Management welcomes four new faculty members with a variety of backgrounds for the 2024-25 academic year. These faculty members are highly esteemed in their respective fields, bringing extensive experience in teaching, industry and academic research.
Barbara Fuzesi
Lecturer | Department of Business Management
Barbara Fuzesi joins Poole College with a passion for finance and entrepreneurship. She graduated from DePaul University with a degree in finance and began her career in an environmental startup, quickly expanding her expertise across various industries such as financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance and private equity
Fuzesi earned an MBA from DePaul University. She later founded her own investment and consulting company. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to her peers earned her recognition as a top-rated finance professor at DePaul University and the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Her mission is to equip students with the knowledge they need for lifelong success, embodying her belief that anyone can achieve financial independence through education and persistence.
Ram Janakiraman
Professor | Department of Business Management
Ram Janakiraman is a professor of marketing analytics at the Poole College of Management. Prior to joining the faculty at NC State, he was a faculty member at the University of South Carolina and Texas A&M University.
Janakiraman’s teaching interests lie in the intersection of quantitative techniques and marketing applications such as marketing analytics, database marketing, pricing analytics and marketing research. His research expertise are in the areas of digital marketing, multichannel retailing, social media marketing analytics, big data issues, health care and public policy.
Janakiraman has a Ph.D. in business administration (marketing) from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.
Jenn Woodhull-Smith
Lecturer | Department of Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship
Jenn Woodhull-Smith comes to Poole College with a background in entrepreneurship, having owned four small businesses and acquiring significant corporate experience with Fortune 500 companies. Her expertise lies in franchise operations, research-driven decision-making, and public speaking.
A dedicated Wolfpack supporter, Woodhull-Smith earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from NC State’s Poole College of Management. She says she is thrilled to return as a lecturer in the classroom.
Natalie Young
Lecturer | Department of Accounting
Natalie Young is a passionate accounting instructor committed to helping students excel in challenging subjects. In the Fall 2024 semester, she will be teaching managerial accounting at NC State.
Before joining Poole College, Young taught accounting courses at community colleges and universities across North Carolina. Prior to her teaching career, she gained experience as a tax preparer for a mid-sized CPA firm in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Young earned her undergraduate degree from Fayetteville State University, where she also served as a supplemental instructor for accounting and managed the Accounting Lab for Principles of Accounting. Her enthusiasm for helping others, along with the support of her professors and family, led her to NC State’s MAC program. She is a devoted NC State fan.
